Hello, we had some issues in the past that we have addressed. We sell tickets quarterly and have an influx of users four times a year, so these issues only happen during this time. This is our second attempt at selling tickets online.
Our previous was in April, and we opened a few support tickets. Since then, we have upgraded our dedicated virtual server and tripled our resources. This has helped with traffic and some errors.
Once error that did occur, which also occurred back in April, is the over selling of event.
Our previous support:
This time, only one event experienced an over selling. Only 35 spaces were available, but 37 were Approved. When i saw ‘overselling’, I am saying registrations which got the Approved stage. At this point, the user would have to pay for the registration or select invoice in order for it to be Approved and a slot taken.
Can you please advise how this might be happening and what we can do to prevent this from occurring again? space is strictly limited and overselling can be a major point of contention.
This might be happening because of a race condition at the moment when a transaction is being completed via the payment method. May I ask which payment method(s) is/are used on the site?
Hi Josh, sorry for the delay. We are using stripe for payments.
