The Espresso CPT uses the slug “events”, so if you enable the Custom Post type option there cannot be a published page with a page slug of “events”.
Is there any way to override the Espresso CPT? We had built an event management system entirely through Custom Post Types / Taxonomies relating Events associated Speakers and Videos/Presentations once the event has passed. Now we see that Event Espresso would handle a lot of our headaches for us, but we already have a CPT of Events full of content.
Is changing our CPT slug to “event” sufficient enough?
It should be sufficient, but you may end up with a lot of 404 errors or misdirected links. Depending on what you need you may not even need to activate the Event Espresso custom post type. There is a lot of functionality event without that.
we added a prefix to the custom rewrite slug for our existing events custom post type and i believe everything is working, but i am not sure whether or not it has anything to do with our shopping cart not displaying https://eventespresso.com/topic/shopping-cart-not-displaying/
