Overpayment message from Paypal standard taxes EE4

Email has been sent to registrant with

Payment Status: Overpaid

The overpayment indicated matches the taxes correctly added by Paypal for the transaction.

I see this has been reported corrected years ago. How can I prevent this message from being sent?

Hi,

Have you gone to the settings page in Event Espresso > Payment Methods > PayPal Standard and set Paypal Calculates Taxes to Yes?

Yes. This is to correct reported incorrect behaviour – Paypal was not adding taxes as expected.

OK, it’s not clear what “This” is, but have you set the tax rates in your PayPal account?

We just set Paypal Calculates Taxes to Yes to correct reported behaviour that Paypal stopped adding taxes.

We have set the tax rates in our PayPal account – these were already set and working previously.

If you prefer the email not be sent, you can go to Event Espresso > Messages > Settings, then drag “Payment Received” over to the “Inactive Message Types” box to deactivate them.

Alternatively you could go in and edit the Primary Registrant context of the Payment Received message template and remove the following:

Payment Status: [PAYMENT_STATUS]

Very good – will try that. Thanks
