Overpaid issue with Mijireh method

There appears to have been an overpayment on one of our sites using Event Espresso and I was hoping you’d be able to give me an idea why. This isn’t the only instance, this has occurred with another transaction as well.

Hi there,

Can you check within the merchant account to see if there are 4 payments for that registration or only one?

Hi Josh,

I got in contact with them and they confirmed there was multiple separate payments.

Assuming that means there were 4 separate payments, that could have happened because either the back button was clicked, then the payment form was submitted again, then repeated.

You can follow these steps to help prevent this from happening in the future:

1) Go to your site’s WP Dashboard to Event Espresso > Payment Settings > Mijireh Settings
2) Click the Edit Slurp Page link
3) Add some microcopy to the page that instructs the user to not navigate away from the page and to only click the Place Order button once

It’s best to include the microcopy before and after the {{mj-checkout-form}} shortcode
4) Save the changes to the page, then click on the Slurp This Page! button

Then, your checkout page will include the specific instructions to avoid multiple charges:
