Hi There,

I was wondering if it was possible to make it so that registrants do not have to select a seat in order to register for an event. This is to show the layout of the event venue to the registrants and not force them to reserve a seat there or also for the possibility of events having more registrants than there are seats for the particular seating chart.

Thanks.

Hi Novak,

How are you today?

I assume you’re using the Seating Chart add-on, but if you’re not using it to assign seats, could you just create an image and display that in the description of the event or even as the featured image?

Hi Garth,

Unfortunately that isn’t an option as the people that are submitting events may have very little knowledge of html. Also, they are likely to use the featured image to display the an image that is more appealing to the event registrants.

Are there any other options for this?

Hi Novak,

If the Seating Chart is active the user is required to select a seat, it’s the way it works so that people don’t over book.

Adding an image to the event description would be the way forward, it requires no HTML knowledge (use the Insert Media button) and does not affect the featured image.
