Option check before switching to Event Espresso

Dear support team,

I’m considering switching to Event Espresso for my sales website, but have a number of questions partly related to each other. I hope you would be willing to help me answer them.

First, I’d like to outline the sales setup. Customers will buy a basic ticket for my event (entrance fee), but can also purchase upgrades (e.g. drinks included). Independent of the upgrade bought, all participants have to enter some preferences (check box / radio button, no pricing associated). The entrance tickets and the upgrades are limited in capacity, whereby the entrance tickets can be bought per person and the upgrade tickets only per group (2 or 4 persons).

  • The prices upgrade can be done using the Price surcharge option. However, when I added additional questions (for example menu preferences), the Price surcharge option ticket is seen as an additional participant. So when 4 people buy the regular entrance ticket, I’ll serve them with my additional question group to get all the information I need. But in case these 4 participants now also buy an upgrade (so: 4 entrance tickets and 4 price surcharge tickets), I get 8 attendee question boxes in the registration form. Is it possible to not count price surcharge tickets as additional attendees?
  • I read about a calendar plugin not available for EE 4. I need a calendar in month view to be displayed on my home page with which our customers can selected the event date they like. Is this still possible with another plugin?
  • Is it possible to set a step size in addition to the minimum and maximum order quantity per ticket? This links with the first question of the upgrades: in fact this is a capacity of 80 normal seats and 20 VIP seats (4 tables for 2 and 4 tables for four). These VIP seats should only be sold per table (so per 2 or 4 guests), but I would like to leave the option open for the entrance tickets to be sold per person (e.g. 3 guests could buy an entrance ticket, but are so desparately wanting to upgrade that they are willing to pay the price for a table for 4 upgrade).

In case we can work out a solution for the above mentioned items, I’d be more than happy to switch to EE. ๐Ÿ™‚

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Best,
Luc

Please ignore my question regarding the Calendar. I already checked that yesterday…

Hi Luc,

Currently, information will be collected for any ticket (pricing options).

You can download a copy of the events calendar add-on from your account page:

https://eventespresso.com/users/railpromo/#ee4-downloads

It is a WP plugin and can be installed through your WP plugins page in your WP dashboard: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/events-calendar-add-on/#ee4installation

Could you use a ticket bundle to create the different quantities for the tables?

Dear Lorenzo,

Thanks for you help. Remaining question is how the ticket bundle would help me in this case. I do understand I can use it to create a “table for 4”, but what if someone would like to book for 8 people = 2 tables for 4? That wouldn’t be possible in this approach, or only if I create ticket bundles for all possible group sizes, right?

Okay, I understand now. You would need to create the various table sizes as additional ticket options.

Sorry, now I’m lost. ๐Ÿ™‚
Which use would you suggest now?

No problem, here is what I’ve referring to:

You would need to create each table quantity separately.

Dear Lorenzo,

Thanks, yes, that’s what you previously mentioned. But the problem is: you cannot book two tables for 4. So imagine a group of 8 coming in and wanting to book to tables – it’s not possible unless you make two separate orders. It would be possible if we could populate the drop down with a certain step size, so: 0, 4, 8, 12, 16. This would solve it. Could that be done in any way?

Hi, that isn’t available at this time.
