We had put in a support request earlier this Spring (https://eventespresso.com/topic/404-error-permalinks-next-steps/?view=all#post-323075)

We had implemented the fix provided and thought it was working, it seemed to at least slow down the errors, but now that the site is getting more traffic the errors have increased and are now happening daily or even several times a day. Please help.

Hello, I haven’t received any response on this? Please help us find a way to resolve this permanently.

Hi there,

Would it be possible to deactivate the All in One SEO plugin to see if that helps resolve the issue?

We will try it. If that is the issue, what can be done to fix it as we need an SEO plugin as well?

If that plugin turns out to be the issue, then I would recommend Yoast SEO:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-seo/

That’s the plugin we’ve been using and recommending for a many years.

We deactivated All in SEO and after several days without any permalink errors, I think that does appear to have been what caused the issue. We will transition our SEO over to Yoast as you recommended. Are there any new issues we should be aware of between EE4 and Yoast?

I’m not aware of any issues with Yoast, however, due to the way Yoast checks the admin pages it won’t show up on EE events by default.

You’ll need to add a snippet like this to the site to get it to load on EE events/venues:

https://github.com/eventespresso/ee-code-snippet-library/blob/master/third-party-integration/tw_ee_load_yoast_seo_within_ee.php

You can add that to a custom functions plugin on your site, we have some documentation on creating one here:

Hi,

We haven’t heard back on a reply from yesterday. May I know if you are still getting the 404 error or any EE plugin errors after switching to Yoast SEO? We want to make sure everything is all set. Let us know if you need anything.
