I see a few posts on this but no one seems to get at the real problem. When someone tries to register and holds their PHONE vertically, the question does not even show up. They can put in their name & email but the QTY is invisible. They THEN get an ERROR message and tell me they were unable to register. Very Very bad since one of the topics I speak on is making sure your landing pages are PHONE READY.

Hi,

The real problem is the WordPress theme in this case. May I ask can you share a link to the page in question? If so, we can share some CSS that will override the theme’s CSS to make the ticket table fit better on small screens.

Oh no. What you’ll need to do is go in and edit the event, and change the Display Ticket Selector setting to Yes. Then update the event.

Then after you do that we can take a look at the ticket selector.

Please understand that I do not have access to your site, so no, I made no changes there. When you changed the setting for “This ticket is required”, that’s what made it show the message, and it also set the Qty field to 1.

You can uncheck that box and the “This ticket is required and must be purchased” message will go away.

Then, you can go to your site’s Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS page, and add the code from this gist:

https://gist.github.com/joshfeck/c391f560acdb7fdc9235

That will make it so the ticket selector fits on even the smallest of screens.

I like the field set to 1, since that eliminates the error if you don’t fill it in… if I turn off the requirement would I again get the error if qty was ignored?
(understand – I’m fine with it be ignored)

Yes, however, you have another option. I’ll explain with the answer to your other question.

Do you guys get that most people would either like to sell a ticket – OR just collect registration info to build their list. You seem to offer either ticket or no info.

We see a wide range of use cases. For your use case, it might be best to unset “This ticket is required” and instead, set “Maximum number of tickets allowed per order for this event:” to 1.
This will have two effects: 1) The Price column will no longer display and 2) the ticket Quantity selector will go away as well. All they’ll need to do is click a button. No errors, no selection of quantity needed.

Remember – you suggested I turn the ‘ticket required’ to yes (see above)

I actually did not suggest doing that. Quite the opposite in fact. Please re-read what I wrote earlier here:

I did precisely as you suggested – found the ‘required’ but did not turn to ‘no’ the show button – working perfectly now… I guess I need to learn to duplicate this event for future meetups. I keep starting from scratch and compounding the pilot error.

Thanks Josh – sorry for being so ‘thick’
