Hi There, I’m using EE4 and at the moment I’m not getting emails when someone registers for my event until I’ve cleared the payment. So the procedure at present seems to be: 1) Someone registers for my event But this requires me to log into my site, go to the registrations and see that there is an incomplete transaction there. Presumably EE is meant to send me an email saying that someone has registered as soon as they’ve done this, but at the moment it send it to me once I’ve authorised their payment. I’ve set up the correct username and email for the event in question. How do I resolve this? Many thanks Daniel Kingsley |

Hi Daniel, Could you tell us more about your event registration so we can share feedback? For example, are you only accepting offline payments that require you to add a payment and send the registration confirmation to the attendee? Or are your events set to not-approved by default which requires you to approve them before your registrants can pay? If neither of the scenarios above apply, then could you let us know if you have customized any of the templates through the messages system? — |

Hi Lorenzo, I’m accepting payments via Paypal Standard (offsite). At the moment the default registration status is “Pending Payment”. I did try a test payment having the default as “Approved”, but my understanding is that the participant then gets a registration whether or not their payment goes through. I did a test payment that failed and yet when the default was “Approved”. I was still told that my registration was successful, which wasn’t good! My ideal would be that EE checks to see whether the payment has gone through and then applies the payment automatically and then sends out the registration email, but I’m guessing that it can’t do that. Please correct me if I’m wrong. Thanks Daniel |

Hi Daniel, It should be updating automatically as you described. Could you confirm that the PayPal IPN is enabled through your PayPal.com account? https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-set-up-paypal-ipn/#paypal — |

Hi Lorenzo, I think we’ve got this working now. Many thanks for your help. Daniel |
