In my previous version of EE my events would only show up for the public eye on my event_list on my website when they opened for registration. I have all my upcoming events set to open for registration April 15, 2013 08:00 so currently they are set to “NOT_OPEN” but they are all showing. Is there something I can adjust so they don’t appear until they are actually open?
Which version did you update from? If it was a fairly recent version had anything been customized to make the Not Open events not appear on the event list?
Honestly I was on a very old version. Over a year old and recently had to do a manual update because it was such an old version. I’m learning all the differences and new features on the current EE. I had not customized anything prior to updating to keep un-opened classes from not showing.
Question: Is this normal to have un-open events showing in the event_list?
Yes the default is for them to be in the list. I had a *quick* look at the files and can’t see a way to filter them out, though a developer may correct me on that. There is a line in there though that can add an ” – Not Open” message to the event list item (screenshot http://d.pr/i/Yzmk).
Of course that does require a minor edit to the template to enable that. Let me know if you want that and I can provide instructions.
The way this functions is the current default yes.
If you copy the appropriate template files over to the uploads/espresso/templates directory, and edit them there, the changes will not get over written. You may still need to tweak the files on update as we do change the template files occasionally.
