Not receiving email notification of registration with $0 cost.

We have set up a product type with a $0 cost, however when a customer registers with that product, the email notification is not sent to the admin. We are using the global default template, but realize there aren’t any message types for “Registration” only; they all seem to be based on payment status.

The option in question is the last one, “Register Interest for Upcoming Program”.

Hi there,

It sounds like your Registration Approved message template has been disabled.

If you go to Event Espresso -> Messages -> Default message templates.

Can you see a ‘Registration Approved’ message type listed there?

That’s the message sent for all registrations when their registration is changed to ‘Approved’ and can be considered a ‘confirmation’ email.

Hi Tony, thanks for your response. There is no default template for Registration Approved. Here are the only message types available:

Ok, so your Registration Approved message type has been disabled.

Go to Event Espresso -> Messages -> Settings -> Email

Can you see the ‘Registration Approved’ message listed in the inactive section on the right?

Drag it back to the active message section on the left.

If it’s already there, drag it over to the inactive section, wait a few seconds and move it back.

Now check if you have a registration approved message type in the list.

May I ask was the message type deactivated or did it show as active and need moving to and from?

It was listed in the Inactive Section and needed to be moved.

Just wanted to ask another simi-related question… someone registered for an event but abandoned the registration at the payment section, however I didn’t received a “Registration Pending Payment” notification. That message IS in the active message list, and I do see the individual under the event list as Pending Payment, Abandoned. Do you know why I didn’t receive a notification for that?

You’ll only receive a ‘Pending Payment’ email in the above situation if the user selects an offsite payment method (for example PayPal Express) and then closes the browser once they arrive at PayPal (before making a payment).

Currently, EE does not automatically trigger emails for registrations that stop on the ‘Payment options’ step of checkout.
