Not receiving Alternate Email Address Admin notification emails

Hi all,

EE is working great, all except for when we use the Alternate Email Address option in the Event Manager. See screenshot here.

Sometimes we need notifications to come to a different email address for certain events. We did not get the notification for this event when we tested it, and the email was not in our SPAM or junk folder either.

I did have Use Fancy Email Headers turned on in the settings section, which I have since turned off. My undertanding though was that this only applied to payment and registration emails sent to the customer, not admin notifications.

Is there a known bug with using the Alternate Email Address option?

Possibly. This is the second time I’ve seen this issue today. I am creating a ticket so we can look into it.

Thanks Chris,

Not only are we not getting alternate email notifications, we’re getting no notifications sent at all. The admin email in settings (with the alternate email address field left blank) also gets no notification, and no payment notification is being sent to the customer.

I’m testing in PayPal Sandbox using the standard PayPal payment module. I don’t know if being in Sandbox would make any difference to EE in terms of sending notifications – my guess would be it’s not supposed to.

Everything else is working great. If we can just get the notification emails working, we’ll be good to go!

PS – I have Use Fancy Email Headers turned OFF.

OK, now this is interesting. EE isn’t sending confirmation emails during the actual order, but I can go in a click the “Resend Registration Details” link next to the attendee name and the email is sent to them just fine.

Double-check your email settings and make sure you have emails to send on payment (actually, that might not work in Sandbox since payment is never actually received…so try setting it to send the email before payment to see if it gets sent then). We are looking into the alternate email issue.
