I having a problem with using the Event Espresso WP plugin.
I have installed the latest version of WP (3.4.2) and the plugin (3.1.28.P).

The problem is that I am not able to save any categories, events, groups, etc.
Is doesn’t matter what I enter, everytime it notifies me of the fact that it is not able to save the record.

It seems to be some kind of database write error.
However, all other plugins and all WP functions are working properly and we are running up to date PHP and MySQL versions.
A previous version of the plugin, has been working perfectly. (version 3.1.15.P).

Besides this, the date & time seems not to be working.

Allthough I set my timezone to Amsterdam (and not UTC time) and wordpress indicates the correct timezone. Event Espresso displays the regular time in stead of the +2 hour summer time I am in now.

Thanks for your help in advance,
Onne

Hello Onne,

Thanks for posting this here.

It is possible that the database tables have changed slightly, as you have jumped 13 revisions in one go. It isn’t something that occurs normally, but it sounds like a good candidate for the issue.

If you have any modified template or gateway files you will also need to remove them from the uploads/espresso folder and insert copies of the new files with the appropriate modifications.

Again though we try to limit the changes done to the template files, with a jump in revisions this large there will be a number of changes.

Can you provide login details, I’d like to see the issue first hand and have a look at the database (via a non invasive plugin called Adminer)

If that is ok, please send them via https://eventespresso.com/contact/

Choose the “I am sending login info as requested” option and fill out the form.

Sometimes the tables are not updated when installing an update. The first thing to try is deactivating and reactivating the plugin. Sometimes that will update that missing database columns.

Mentioning the fact that the older version did work, was maybe a bit misleading.
I’ve downloaded the plugin and did a clean install. So there were no old records involved.

OK,

I have done a couple of clean installs today with .28 and not come across this. Just did another to see, and again no issues.

The Amsterdam time was marked as one hour behind me (correct) but Event Espresso did give me wrong time for it, though it made no difference at all.

Have you checked the database to make sure Event Espresso tables have been created?

Yes, wp_events_ tables have been created.
I will create a user account so you can test it yourself.

Hi there,

We received the login info, but when we log in there is only a white screen. Are you seeing this as well? If so, can you try deactivating some plugins?

Could be that it’s because of an IP restriction I put on the index code.
Everything is working ok here.

I think the error has something to do with the fact that the WP installation is multiple site. Because I just checked the plugin on a different site (in the same WP installation) and that one actually worked.

Is your plugin multiple site compatible?

I can add your IP to the list, if you can e-mail it to me on the address I provided earlier

Hi there,

Event Espresso hasn’t been tested on Multi-site. That said, some folks have had some success with Event Espresso on a multi site setup. Off hand I know it takes some customization to get the ticketing app to work on multi-site, because it was written specifically for single site use.

Please note that when you purchase a support license, we can support it for one domain. While you can install the software on more than one site, the support covers one site. Is the site that you need support for the one that the license is registered to?

The main problem seemed to be that the database tables couldn’t be found because of the multisite setup installation.
Renaming the wp_event tables to the multisite format, seemed to solve this issue.
However, I will need to do some further testing to confirm this issue being solved for me.

Is Event Espresso network activated, or activated for each site?
