What that’s about is a security mechanism kicking in with the intent to keep your site safe. Does the settings page allow you to save the page if you’re not setting a logo image URL there?

I tried a couple of times but eventually logged out and back in again which resolved the matter

Hi Steve,

A nonce is a number used once, it’s a simple yet effective security measure to make sure you are who you should be. You can read up more on nonce here:

https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Nonces

But basically a nonce is created on one page and passed through to another, that nonce is checked and confirmed that its valid (its valid for a relatively short amount of time). Its to prevent users from capturing sessions and visiting links they should not be able to view.

So when a nonce fails an error is shown.

If you log in, then leave the browser for an extended period and try something within the admin, the same will happen (WordPress my say you don’t have access or just ask you to log in again) so logging out and in re-creates the session and a new nonce.

Anyway, just a quick explanation of whats going on, I’m glad you found a solution 🙂

Thanks Tony, that’s a noteworthy explanation!
