No Wait List Button when event is sold out

I’ve been alerted that the wait list button on this page is not displaying. The event is sold out, and we’ve set the wait list to 5 spaces, but there is no button displayed. I also do not see it in the computed code or css, using developer tools.

Can you confirm if waitlist addon is installed? and also if you set some numbers for waitlist? check also if registration is already full and waitlist number is full.

Let me know what you find out.

Confirmed: Wait List Addon is installed. There are 5 openings on the waitlist; none used. The registration is full.

Can you add a screenshot of the datetime/ticket section within the event editor?

Does the event have any archived tickets?

Do you have waitlist registrations that have been auto promoted?

They may not have been promoted to Approved, but do you have any already in the system?

What happens is you set the waitlist spaces to say 10 and update, does it show the button then?

Autopromotion is disabled and there are no waitlist registrations that have been autopromoted.

I do not appear to be able to successfully set waitlist spaces to 10. If I update the number of waitlist spaces to 10 and Update, I get a message that “the Event Status has automatically been changed to Sold Out because there are no more spaces available for this event. However, this change is not permanent until you update the event. You can change the status back to something else before updating if you wish.”

What that message appears, the waitlist seats has reverted to 5. If I update to 10 again and Update a second time, it saves with no warning, but still reverts waitlist seats to 5.

Ok, so I checked on your site and noticed you are running version 4.10.11 of Event Espresso, is there something preventing you from updating?

That version was released April 27th 2021 and we’ve made a bunch of changes to the add-ons and core since then.

Can you update Event Espresso and see if the issue remains?

Sure thing. I’d hesitated to jump from v 4.x to v 5.x, but since it’s available, I’ll go ahead with it.

The issue still does seem to remain.

It does? The event you linked to above is displaying the waitlist button now.

Are you still having issues with saving the waitlist settings?

My refresh yesterday didn’t bring the button up. Thank you for pointing that out!

Do you have caching enabled? The page could have been cached.

IF so I’d recommend excluding the EE critical pages:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/setup-nocache-exclusion-rules-event-espresso/

And any pages that include the ticket selector for events.
