I am currently registering people and selling tickets to an event. I just discovered that the tickets and “Register Now” button are not showing up on the iphone and ipad – only on the computer. Is there something I can do to correct this? I am linking to the event through the right sidebar widget with a picture of orange tickets.
Thanks,
Julie

No, this is happening on all devices. Including laptop. I do see the tickets when I am logged in to wp-admin.

Hi Julie,

Could you go to the event editor for this event and look at the top right area where the event options section is?

Then is the show ticket selector option set to no (this turns it off)? If it is, could you update it to yes and save changes to the event through the event editor?

I edited the event, and on the right side is a box “Event Registration Options”. It shows “active status – inactive” but I cannot click on it. Is this the correct area?
Underneath that is “Display Ticket Selector” which is set to yes.

Hello,

The status should be active unless the event was originally created without a title and description.

Could you try this quick test?

Create a new event with a title of test and an event description of test and then click publish. Does that new event then have the ticket selector?

OK, when you say “event description” where does that go? Is that supposed to be in the content area or is that the “Name” under “Event Datetime”?

Hi,

That would be the content area.

It looks the same as my other event

Active Status: Inactive
Display Ticket Selector: Yes

Alright, the inactive status is an issue as that should be going to active when you publish.

Could you update to the latest version of Event Espresso 4 through your WP plugins screen?

You can see changes since your version here:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/ee4-changelog/

Have you recently installed any new plugins in the past few days? If so, could you temporarily deactivate them and then try updating an event through the event editor for Event Espresso?

Ok, I updated to the latest version. No, I have not installed any new plugins.

Hi Julie,

Could you try the following?

Go to your WP plugins screen and deactivate all plugins.

Then reactivate Event Espresso 4.

Create a new event with test for the title and test for the event description and publish (to save changes).

Does it also have an inactive status?

I followed these instructions and I still get the inactive status. This was all working fine last week. I don’t know what happened.

Now tickets are showing up on my laptop, but not on the phone or ipad

But the event is still shown as “inactive”.

Hello, the appearing on only certain devices is strange as it should appear on all devices. I’m on a computer and I’m unable to see the tickets.

Could you please follow up with us here so we can take a look?

If you have made any changes since last week (other than the testing earlier) today, then please do let us know in the form above.

Thanks

Lorenzo

Lorenzo,
It’s me again. I have having the same issue with running out of memory. The host people have increased my memory a couple of times, but it keeps happening. Can you tell me how much memory is required to make Event Espresso run smoothly? I am giving up on using this I guess. I took it down off the website because I don’t want people to get frustrated when they are trying to buy tickets and can’t get it to work. Do most people that run this plugin have a dedicated server? We do not. Thanks for any advice you can offer.

Hi Julie,

Event Espresso 4 can run on the standard amount of memory that your WP site requests which is 40M.

On sites with resource-heavy plugins like Visual Composer, then 128M is a good choice.

I had a look at our earlier private conversation and I recommend trying the other web host that you mentioned. A dedicated server isn’t required to use Event Espresso and we have some recommendations here:

https://eventespresso.com/requirements/

That level of resources with a dedicated server may be recommended if you are hosting many events per month with hundreds/thousands of registrants/attendees.
