Hi there,
we got heavy errors with the templates. Looks very confusing, says it is something with permissions (755), but when we fix this, than it says we have to rename the folder.
When we do that, the error is another. So or so it does not functioning.
The main site is brocken: https://www.hebamme-in-hamburg.de/kurse/

Nor error in system status (php 7.2)
Templates are correct here: wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates/
It says, we should rename folder, but the error changes, event bookings still impossible.

Hi,

It’s evident that you’re getting a fatal error on the home page at the start of the loop. You can find the source of the fatal error by turning on WP DEBUG MODE.

If you need instructions for how to activate WP_DEBUG mode, they’re outlined here:
https://eventespresso.com/wiki/troubleshooting-checklist/#wpdebug

Ok. There are erros and its look like the theme is outdated.
But single events are without errors: https://www.hebamme-in-hamburg.de/kurse/anmeldung/?ee=893

Only the overview site!

May I ask which URL is the overview site?

Like I post before: https://www.hebamme-in-hamburg.de/kurse/

OK, so what’s the fatal error being logged on that page? Is it from the theme or is it from Event Espresso?

I dont know. Theme the theme. But why is only this single site (overview) broken?

You’re going to have to set WP_DEBUG to true to capture the fatal error to find out why it’s broken, or check your site’s PHP error log.

Ok. I guess it is the theme. But we havent any debug file, there is no log file anywhere. It should be in wp-content, right?

The config file has the whole time define(‘WP_DEBUG’, true);

You probably should contact the theme author as there may be an update to the theme.

With regards to a debug file, you’d also need to add:
define( 'WP_DEBUG_LOG', true );
to the wp-config.php file.

Then, if your file permissions allow, there will be a “debug.log” file added to the wp-content folder. If the file permissions don’t allow it, you can add a blank file to /wp-content/ and name it debug.log.

there is no log file anywhere

You’ll need to contact your host about that.

Ok. Thanks. I did it like that, but log file is … empty. O bytes.
I think it is hosting and theme. Very complicated.

Can you post whatever errors you are getting?

For example:

we got heavy errors with the templates. Looks very confusing, says it is something with permissions (755), but when we fix this, than it says we have to rename the folder.

Where does it show this and what is the exact error it outputs?

You can test if it’s the theme by temporarily switching to a default theme such as twentyseventeen and retesting the same page, if you prefer not to switch the theme for all users you can use the Theme Test Drive plugin to change the theme for only admins.
