The site is for a training company who use EE for booking training.
WP 3.4.1
EE 3.1.30.7P
EE MER 1.0.4
Host Webcentral IIS

This site has been running, but not made public so far, with EE 3.1.22.2.P.

It was working fine before the upgrade.
Process used for booking
1. http://www.restaurantresources.com.au/?page_id=1897
2. Add two or more courses to the cart
3. Click “view cart”
4. Change number of attendees to 1 for each
5. Click “Enter Attendee Information”
6. Complete the form for the first course and press the “Yes” button for Copy above information to all forms?
7. Click “confirm and go to payment page”
8. Under the payment overview heading is the breakdown of the courses selected.

This is where my problem resides, the information does not match the original selection.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi Shane,

The first thing I would do is rename your uploads/espresso folder as there are some (potentially) old template files there. You can do this via FTP or by going to the Template Settings page, where there is a button to rename it.

This will force the plugin to use the new, unmodified templates. Test the registration process again and see if it resolves the issue.

Thanks Dean,

I have just tried that, and it’s still the same problem.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks again
Shane

Hey Shane,

OK, next step. Have you troubleshooted the plugins and theme? By this I mean deactivate the plugins except Event Espresso and see if the issue persists? Have you swapped to a default theme like TwentyTwelve?

I am concerned that your server is a Windows one, as they are not recommended for hosting an Event Espresso site on.

I have deactivated all plugins except for EE and MER. And changed back to a default theme, no difference. So I renamed my uploads/espresso folder again to see if it made any difference and it didn’t.

While I was reading through the EE site last night I noticed that IIS wasn’t ideal. It had worked fine though using EE 3.1.22.2.P. If I was to back pedal…I think I only did an export and not a full backup would the 3.1.22.2.P files still be compatible with the db tables?

I did try to pry the site owner away to a Unix server, but they didn’t want to change host and wouldn’t even entertain the idea, despite it causing me to age rapidly.

I hear you!

would the 3.1.22.2.P files still be compatible with the db tables?

I cannot guarantee it, we try not to change the database too much but with the large gaps in version numbers it is possible.

OK, I had another look at this, as it has to be something simple or known. I removed the two events I had originaly and added to different ones, and it came up correctly http://d.pr/i/Vh9k so it isn’t consistant.

Is it possible to get your login details in order to look into this?

If so, please send them via https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/

NOTE: login details need to be Admin level.

The details have been sent, let me know if there are any problems.

Hey Shane,

We are still looking into this, could you send FTP details so we can have a look at the files please?

Can send it via the same form.

Cheers

Hey,

Thanks for the FTP details, Josh is going to continue testing this for me as we still cannot place the issue. Right now we are thinking that there is actually nothing wrong and that it is your server, but we are not sure yet. One of us will get back to you as soon as we can.

Hi Dean, Just checking in to see if there has been any movement on this problem?

Hi Shane,

I had thought that Josh had ran with this, but maybe it was mixed signals so my apologies. I will check in with Josh to find out where he left this and get back to you.

Hi Shane,

I logged in over FTP and noticed that the entire /gateways folder from the plugin had been copied over to the /wp-content/uploads/espresso/gateways folder. We do not recommend copying everything over like this. The only files that should be copied over are ones that are customized, and these need to be maintained so they are in sync with the current version of the plugin.

Also, I noticed that there are a few Event Espresso core functions being overridden in custom_functions.php. These may also be affecting the payment overview page.

Here are a few suggestions I can give you:

1) You can make it easier to maintain this site by removing all the files that have been copied over to /wp-content/uploads/espresso/ that are not customized.

2) Once you have cleaned out the files that are not needed from the /uploads directory, you can do a diff against the core files and functions that are being overridden. There are likely changes that were made to Event Espresso core in the new version that are not in your custom files and functions. A tool like diffmerge will help you compare the the customized files and functions to the core files and functions.

Thanks for the tips.

I have cleaned out the uploads files completely and did a fresh install of EE snd there is no change. Its still doing what it was doing before.

Any thoughts?

Hi Shane,

One thing that has struck me is that the prices are not auto updating in the cart. There are no javascript errors though.

I tested 3.1.30.7 on WP 3.4.1 which you are running. No issues.

I am at a bit of a loss here. I can see the site was on the latest version and cant see any modified files in the uploads, but yes it is still occurring. If you have tested this on default theme with no plugins except EE then I have to conclude it must be the server.

I wound back to EE 3.1.22.2.P and everything is working fine (after a bunch of mods to make it look pretty).

What version of MER should I be running with EE 3.1.22.2.P and what would I need to do to get the coupon code box to display.

I set up a test environment with a vanilla install and the coupon code box appears until MER is installed.

Hi Shane,

The coupon code functionality did not work in Event Espresso 3.1.22.P with Multi Event Registration.

I think the issues you were having with the newer version may be related to the custom functions in custom_functions.php.
