Hi, I’ve just bought and installed event espresso. I’m inserting a few test events so I can style the events list. I’m trying to attached a featured image to an event but it won’t work. I’ve tried both uploading and selecting an existing image, then I select “insert into post” (there is no “use featured image” button) but the featured image box just loads an errored image, the url for which is “undefined” and when I save the event it disappears altogether. I’m using multisite but only using this plug-in on one subsite at the moment. Thanks πŸ™‚ Zoe

Hi Zoe,

Have you network activated the plugin or installed it directly on one site? The plugin wont work correctly if network activated.

Just for reference, please also note that whilst Event Espresso can work on multisite, it was not designed to, and we can only provide support for the site (or in this case subsite) that has the licence key.

Hi Dean, the rest of the plug-in seems to be working fine, its just the featured images. How do I install the plug-in on the subsite only? You can only upload plug-ins via the network admin area with multisite…

Cheers,

Zoe

Hi Zoe,

If you network de-activate it in the admin site, it will become activate-able (real word, honest!) on each individual site.

Also make sure that the “Display featured images in the event list and registration pages?” option in Template Settings is set to yes, and save the settings on that page (just in case).

Hi Dean, I didn’t know that! I’ve made that change, the featured images are switched on in the settings but still having the same issue πŸ™

πŸ™‚ I’m still learning multisite too.

I tested it on my MU rig and it worked fine, are you willing to provide login details so I can poke about and try and see whats wrong?

If so, please send them via https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/

NOTE: login details need to be Admin level.

Maybe I’m being dim, but there’s no send button on the form…

No You are not being dim at all, there is in fact no submit button. Something obviously has gone wrong wit that form, no me, no button…

OK ill get that fixed, in the mean time please email the details into support @ eventespresso.com

I am having this exact same issue. I’ve installed the plugin on a single-site vanilla WordPress install. Have you been able to find a cause/fix for this issue?

Dean

@Zoe – I must have been having a bad day that day, the submit button appears when the final dropdown is selected.

@marc
– no resolution as yet, awaiting login details. However as your issue is different (single site vs multi site, can you please open a new thread and outline the issue in detail? Thanks!

Hi Zoe,

Ok I logged in and had a look at the test event I added a featured image from the media library and also uploaded one from my pc

http://d.pr/i/KXsd & http://d.pr/i/nBEE

As such it seems to be in working order (though needs styling) or am I missing something?

I used Google Chrome, could it be a browser issue?

Hey Zoe,

Well I was the latest Chrome as standard so I cant see it being that. Have you cleared your browser cache or tried a different browser?

Hi Zoe,

Can you try logging in with the credentials you sent to Dean and try uploading a featured image with that account? That may help narrow down the issue.

Hi, I’ve logged in as Dean and the featured image does work, logged in as me (super user) it still doesn’t.

I created a new superuser that has access to all sites and it works when logged in as them too… I don’t know if this is just isolated to the original user login or if my client will have this problem too… can we leave this issue until I am able to confirm whether its just an issue for my user login or not?

Cheers,

Zoe

Hi Zoe,

It sounds like this is related to a WordPress core issue that has been fixed and should be in a future version version of WordPress. Here is a link to the ticket in trac:

and you could try setting the option to link to a file, it might work in this case. What you’d do is add this to the active theme’s functions.php file, save, refresh the admin page, then remove and save:

update_option('image_default_link_type','file');
