Hi! The event is not showing up on my page that I’ve set for it to be displayed on. I’ve tried disabling all other plugins and using the default WordPress theme without any luck. I’m running WordPress 3.5 and Event Espresso version 3.1.29.1P Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated…thanks!!!

Hi there, Can you post a link to the page where you’ve set this up? Also, which shortcode is on that page? |
Yes! The page is: http://restoreomaha.org/register/ The shortcode I’m using is: [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] Thank you! |
Hi there, This is a bit strange. Registration info is showing up here: http://restoreomaha.org/register/?ee=3 It looks like you may need to reset the main registation page setting in Event Espresso>General Settings>Page Settings. Can you try changing the main registration page setting, saving, then change it back and save? |
Sure! Here’s what I did. I removed the shortcode from the “Register” page. I created a brand new page called “Test”. I added the shortcode to the Test page and I also set the Test page in the Event Espresso > General Settings > Page Settings It’s not showing up yet. My event is closed but I think that’s because the registration isn’t open until January 6. However I went the event info to show before the open date. Here’s the link to the Test page: http://restoreomaha.org/test/ Thank you!!! =) |
What is the status of the one event that you have set up? Is it set to draft? |
I don’t think it is. It’s live on the site. You can see it if you go to: http://restoreomaha.org/register/?ee=3 Here’s a screenshot of the Event setup in Event Espresso: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/554073/event.png Thanks!!! |
Try entering start and end times for your events. |

Thanks Seth for your responses… I added a start and end time and still no luck. What’s my next step? Thanks again! -John |
Hi John, This isn’t something I’ve seen before. Can you turn on debugging by setting the WP_debug option to true? This is something you can edit in the wp-config.php file: http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Debug If there are any PHP errors being thrown, they’ll output onto the page and this may help narrow down the issue. |

When I set the “Register” page as the Main Registration Page in General Settings, my event link is: http://restoreomaha.org/register/?ee=3 When I set the “Test” page as the Main Registration Page in General Settings, my event link is: http://restoreomaha.org/test/?ee=3 So at least the URL for the individual event is changing correctly. However I can’t my event to show up on the “Main Registration Page”. I’ve set it back to the “Register” page with no luck although the individual event shows up at: http://restoreomaha.org/register/?ee=3 Fortunately I only have 1 event that I’m working with so it’s fine for me to point the “Register” links to: http://restoreomaha.org/register/?ee=3 However if I had several events, I’d like to show them all on one page…that’s what I thought the “Main Registration Page” would do…show all of my events on one page. I hope that all makes sense… =) |
Yes, I’ve turned that on. I see some errors but I’m not sure exactly what they mean… |
Looks like I need to add an address for the event…is that it? I’ll add a temp one and see if it works… The client didn’t give me an address yet… |
Added an address with no luck… -John |
Can you please post the errors here? |
I’ve deactivated all other plugins on the site. It’s saying it has undefined values for the address but I added an address… |
Sure! Here they are: Notice: Undefined variable: venue_country in /home/restoreo/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/templates/event_list.php on line 318 Notice: Undefined variable: venue_title in /home/restoreo/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/templates/event_list.php on line 319 Notice: Undefined variable: venue_address in /home/restoreo/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/templates/event_list.php on line 320 Notice: Undefined variable: venue_address2 in /home/restoreo/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/templates/event_list.php on line 321 Notice: Undefined variable: venue_city in /home/restoreo/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/templates/event_list.php on line 322 Notice: Undefined variable: venue_state in /home/restoreo/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/templates/event_list.php on line 323 Notice: Undefined variable: venue_country in /home/restoreo/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/templates/event_list.php on line 324 |

You can also see them if you go to: http://restoreomaha.org/register/ |
Hi John, The venue notice warnings will not prevent the event list from displaying. Can you try something else that may help narrow down the problem? You can create an event list page and place the [EVENT_LIST] shortcode on it. Leave the main registration page setting as is though. |
Sure! I put that on the “Test” page. It’s the only content on the Test page. Here’s the link: http://restoreomaha.org/test/ |

Yes! I just submitted it…thank you! |
Hi John, I added a test event that is set as open for registration and it appears in the list. So in the case of having only one event that is not open for registration yet, the initial view of the page with the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] shortcode will not display any events. As a workaround, you can set up a separate page for listing events and use this shortcode: [EVENT_LIST show_expired=true] Please note that The [EVENT_LIST] shortcode should not be used as a replacement for the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] shortcode. Replacing the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] shortcode will break your registration pages. |
Update: We were starting to think this was a bug in the event list, since events that are not open for registration yet should display on the event list. So I did some further checking and saw something I didn’t catch from yesterday: Here’s a link to the screenshot you had posted yesterday: In this case, the registration end date had been set to March 31, 2012. So the status of the event is “Closed” and will not display in the default event list. I’ve updated the Registration End date to a later date, please adjust this to your needed registration end date. |
Wow…I feel stupid. Thanks so much for all of your help! Sorry I wasted your time… =/ -John |
No problem, John. I wish I would have spotted the backdated registration end date sooner. 🙂 |
