I’m wondering how well Event Espresso would work for player registration for our adult soccer league.

We have one league with 3 different divisions, Womens, Mens, and Co-Ed. So people will only sign up for one each season. We will obviously have multiple games a season but people only pay once.

We will need to ask players for some custom information when registering, shirt size, position preference, etc. It would also be nice to email all players in each division with news and updates.

What pricing level would I require. To get these kind of features and is there a place I can try out the different levels? I tested the free version but it seemed too basic.

Is anyone doing this with EE? It seems to be the closest WordPress solution I can find.

Thank you

Hi Chris,

It should work just fine.

You can create an event per season per division, limit the number of possible registrants etc.

Custom questions can be built that can be used in the events, beyond the default name/email and address questions. This can be added to groups so they can be used on multiple events (eg if you had gender neutral questions, they can be grouped and used on all divisions, and then you can create a question group solely for men or women).

Emailing can be done in two ways. You can either email the entire event attendees (so in your case a division/season) from Event Espresso, or you can use the mailchimp addon to add users emails to a mailchimp email list on registration (this does require the user to opt in.)

Also you can export all of your attendee data in spreadsheet form and use the emails that way.

Licence wise, it sounds like the Personal licence will be sufficient, except it does not include the Mailchimp addon. You can purchase that separately or go with the Business licence which is the best value.

You can check out our test drive page for different ways to test Event Espresso.
