Buying credits to register and pay for future events

Hello. I’m using WP version 3.5.1 and EE version 3.1.30.7P. I want to know if I can set it up to allow customers to buy a “pack” of 5 or 10 tickets that they can then choose to use at a later time.

For example: Today I buy the 5 pack, pay for the pack, and leave the website. Tomorrow I go on the website and register for an event and “apply” my first pre-purchased ticket. Since I’ve already paid, I do not need to pay anything on this visit. A week from now I go on the site again and register for another event and now I’ve used 2/5. Again, I do not need to pay here because I’m working through my pre-purchased bundle. And so on until I’ve used up all 5 classes.

Is this possible?

Hi Henry,

We don’t have a pre-purchase or “credit” system in Event Espresso at this time. We do hope to build this in a future version. If you really need this feature we might consider adding it in a later version if you can help with the cost, otherwise we’ll add it to our list of feature requests.

What did you have in mind in terms of helping with cost?

How long do you think it’ll take to develop? And since this is a function you can market as an additional add-on, and one that closes the gap between you and mind body, how much are you willing to discount your hourly rate?

According to that policy we discount our rate 50%. I don’t have an estimate for how long it would take right now. What is your deadline?

Event Espresso would probably prefer that we build this on Event Espresso 4 (formerly 3.2) which will be more accommodating for this type of feature.

That seems reasonable, depending on how long it takes to build.

When will EE 4 go live? One of my clients is yoga studio and I just transitioned them from mind body (which has the functionality) so they want it as soon as possible.

As a stop-gap measure, couldn’t we sell 1 “event” that is the bundle and then send them 5 or 10 unique one-time promotion codes that are 100% off? Definitely more manual that I’d like, but it would work, right?

Hi Henry,

Event Espresso 4 is nearing beta, but it’s going to be in beta for quite awhile because there are many features and add-ons that need to be ported over.

The social coupon/voucher add-on would get you most of the way there. It lets you enter in one time use coupon codes that discount events at 100% off.

Awesome, thanks. This’ll do in the interim and when you get EE4 up and running let me know and we can circle back on the sponsored dev
