No redirect to payment gate way & no registration detail email sent

I have just installed event espresso on the latest wordpress version. I am having 2 problems
1. When a user registers they are not redirected to a payment page as they should be. I have set paypal up to be the gateway. Instead users are just sent back to default events page.
2. When a user does register no email is sent to them. I can send the details to them manually via the attendees admin area. PLEASE HELP? I have spent a lot of money on this and expect it to work out of the box.

Hi Myles,

What version of Event Espresso are you using now? Did you recently upgrade WordPress and Event Espresso stopped working? If you have an old version of Event Espresso, then we’d recommend getting a newer version from your account page.

Hello Myles,

I have passed an urgent request to the developers to look into this redirect issue, we will return to you on it.

Hi Myles,

Sorry for the delay. Can you try temporarily setting the WordPress Permalink settings to the default option? The URL on the registration page includes “/index.php/” which may indicate that the server may not be configured correctly to handle /postname/ permalinks.

Hi Josh,

I set the permalinks to the default options but it still didn’t redirects.

Once you have entered the attendee details and push the confirm button it just takes you to the event regisration page instead of payment gateway?

Server can run /postname/ permalinks fine.

Thanks for work, Myles.

Having the same issue and your workaround helps for the moment. However, some other problems remain.

Hi Myles and Chris,

Can you check the main registration page and try wrapping the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] shortcodes with the raw short tag? Example:
[raw][ESPRESSO_EVENTS][/raw]

Some themes will remove the standard WordPress content filters and apply their own as suggested by this tutorial:
http://www.wprecipes.com/disable-wordpress-automatic-formatting-on-posts-using-a-shortcode

The code from this tutorial is known to break compatibility with WordPress plugins that use the WordPress shortcode API, Event Espresso being one of them.

Hi guys,

As per Josh’s post please can you try this and let us know if it works or not?

If not, please can you provide the following info:
WordPress version,
Event Espresso version,
Theme name and version.
Theme developer name.

We may request site access to examine the them code more closely if need be.

Hurray!

That works for me. Even IPN seems to get through properly. Paypal Payment is accepted and ticket is delivered to client as it should.

One restriction: When client enters his data on the event page and clicks the Buy now Botton (in our case: Kostenpflichtig bestellen) this leads directly to the payment option page without getting to the page where he could check and edit his data.

Any new findings on this?

Hi Chris,

In Event Espresso 3.1.28, there is an option in Event Espresso>General Settings under advanced settings that will let you skip the confirmation page. It sounds like this option has been enabled. You can set the confirmation page to display between the registration page and payment page by disabling the “Skip confirmation page” option.

Thank you Josh,

yes, that’s perfectly clear but the problem remains:
If I turn “skip confirmation page” to “No”, IPN seem not to be delivered and automatic ticket is not sent to the client. If I turn it to “Yes” everything works fine.

We can live without the confirmation page. Just to let you know that this issue remains.

Hi Chris,

Is there an older version of the confirmation_page.php template in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates?

Chris

No, nothing in that folder.

But I noticed that there is another folder named
wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates-2012-11-08-07-15-51
wich contains several files.
Does that help?

That helps narrow things down a bit. Event Espresso will ignore those files in that location, but at one time they were in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates and Event Espresso does check there first.

Another thing to check is for any files in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/gateways. Event Espresso will check there first for payment display page files, and if there are older versions in there, these will override the current versions’s payment display and gateway files.

No files in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/gateways either.
