On my website when I use try loading any event espresso pages I get the following message:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected end of file in /home/MY-WEBSITE/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/core/db_classes/EE_Event.class.php on line 656

I looked up the file and noticed that it ends without the php delimiter ?>. When I added it, the plugin still wouldn’t work. I reverted the file back to the original, and really need some help getting this working as soon as possible.

Hi Ismail,

How did you upload EE4 to the site?

Was is using FTP or via the Plugin uploader?

If using FTP can you delete the current version through Dahsboard -> Plugins, download the latest version from Your Account Page and upload once again through Dashboard -> Plugins -> Add new -> Upload.

Will I have to backup my EE events? If so how do I do this?

You should not lose any events as they are stored within the Database, however backing up is never a bad thing. We have a guide on how to backup your database here:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-back-up-your-site/

There are multiple plugins that make this quick and easy, I use this one:

https://wordpress.org/plugins/backupwordpress/

But there are many choices, as long as you backup all tables you will backup your EE data.
