Next page event list not loading

Clients can’t access page 2 of event list.

Example URL: https://streetsmartsdriversed.com/iowa/des-moines/creekside-classes/page/2/

I’ve cleared CloudFlare Cache, all else is working great.

Any common things to look for on paging not working?

We are at the latest versions etc..

Hi Bob,

You can avoid the potential problems with paging not working by increasing the limit in the shortcode parameters. e.g.

[ESPRESSO_EVENTS limit=20]

Thanks that did fix it!

This should be another post and I’ve searched the forum but each page for a school says “Upcoming Events” and we want it to say “Upcoming Classes”

I swear we did this already in functions.php but I don’t see it.

Hi Bob,

You can use a snippet like this: https://gist.github.com/Pebblo/2b9317b798d3b002281c7b16d478f77e

Just change the text to suit.

I swear we did this already in functions.php but I don’t see it.

Have you recently updated the theme? If it’s not a custom theme and you update it you’ll lose any modifications to the theme, if that’s the case you need to create a child theme.

We have the same problem. But there is no limit in our shortcode parameter. Could it be something else?

We are investigating the issue with paging on some sites but it’s not the ‘limit attribute that’s is causing it.

The limit attribute within the shortcode loads more events on a single page which in the above example removed pagination and allowed all the events to display.

How many pages of events do you have? If 2 you can add limit=20 to your shortcode to load all the events on a single page.

Update: The issue with paging is fixed and the fix is included in Event Espresso 4.9.41.p. You can update your site so it has the latest version of Event Espresso 4 by going to the WordPress > Plugins page, then you click on the update link.

Thanks Josh,

The auto update wasn’t showing the new update but we updated manually.

Hi Bob,

Just to let you know if the EE updates don’t show in the dashboard in the future you can go to:

Event Espresso -> General Settings

Make no changes and just hit save, that will force EE to run an update check.

Note that ‘spamming’ the above feature will have your site updates limited for a period of time. There is nothing wrong with manually updating either but with multiple add-ons etc it is easier to have the update show through the plugins menu.
