Hi – new install and new user here. WP 3.9.2, EE4 4.3.1p that I downloaded from EE site and installed not long ago.

Working my way thru setting all the basics, but when I get to General Settings/Countries, (a) there’s no drop-down action in the SELECT COUNTRY field although I can type in the field, and (b) in COUNTRY DETAILS lower left are there is a message that says “Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/joabut2/ninthdistrictpta.org/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg-1/admin_pages/general_settings/templates/country_details_settings.template.php on line 4.” The second part sounds particularly ominous to me.

Please advise what to do next, Thanks!

Hi,

Was this installed manually through SFTP or FTP or was the install done through the WordPress dashboard (wp-admin)?

I used the Dashboard Install New Plugin function, and let that upload the .zip file from my local machine. Any reason to think FTP-ing the source in would be better?

Installing through the WordPress dashboard is the best option.

I noticed their is a 1 at the end of your folder name. Are there multiple versions of Event Espresso 4 installed?

If so, could you remove all of them and reinstall Event Espresso?

You can download a new copy from your account page:

Also, please turn off debugging for WordPress by adding the following macro to your wp-config.php file (should replace any existing debugging macro):

define('WP_DEBUG', false);
  if (WP_DEBUG) {
    define('WP_DEBUG_LOG', true);
    define('WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', true);
}

Lorenzo got me to thinking – the “(1)” in the file path was an artifact of how it was stored on my local machine, not indicative of a duplicate installation, but who knows what that might cause. And I think I did the original install over a less-than-great ISP (working away from home).

That lead me to think I should find a better uplink, delete the first installation, fix the file name, and reinstall. After doing all that, COUNTRY works as expected, and I’ve found a couple of other places that are different/better as well.

All good now, and I’m calling this one resolved. Thanks Lorenzo!
