Here’s a weird question.
We’re using the system to allow people to register for events, some of which have cost associated with them, and to register for volunteer shifts (for which they get a discount). Right now, what we do is an attendee signs up for volunteer shifts and we send them a promo code.
What I’d love to do is assign a “negative” price to each volunteer shift and use the multiple event registration feature. For example, John Smith signs up for
Volunteer Shift #1 -$25.00
Volunteer Shift #2 -$25.00
Weekend Package $200.00
TOTAL $150.00
Can I do this just by making the price of an event negative?

That’s a great usage, and a great idea, unfortunately, if you try to add a negative to the price, the negative gets stripped and the event will be $25. It may be possible if you go digging through the code that you could pin down the function that strips out the negative and replace it, but I wouldn’t advise trying it if the only way to change it was to hack the core plugin (e.g. you couldn’t do it by pulling that function out and recreating it with the custom files add-on).
