Hey there,

I am trying to achieve the following but don’t know how to do it.

DETAILS:

1. My client has 3 types of public classes they offer: (Monkeynastix Canada)
– Babynastix (1-2 yrs)
– Tremendous Toddlers (2-3 yrs)
– Playful Preschool (3-6 yrs)

2. Each of these classes run over a 9 week period from January to March (2018) on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays (each days represent a course so to speak for example, if I paid $$ for the Wednesday Babynastix class, I would be expected to show up every Wednesday until the class was finished 9 weeks later, and this is the same for Saturday and Sunday)

3. Each of these classes have a cost associated with them for sale up to the day before the start date.

That part I thought I did correctly but when I view it on the calendar it’s wrong. you can see here: http://monkeynastix.ca/burlington/public-classes/babynastix/ (you will have to click over to January 2018 sorry)

WHAT I AM TRYING TO DO VISUALLY

1. What I am trying to achieve visually is to have the classes on Saturdays, ONLY appear on the calendar on Saturdays, and so on with Wednesdays and Sundays. Right now the events span the entire week until nine weeks later.

2. I also would like to colorize these so that each events are different colors on the calendar.

3. I would also like to have the calendar links link directly to that class page, for example, if someone clicks on the calendar for Sunday, it goes to the Sunday description and ticket purchase area, I don’t want it to display each of the classes options like Wednesdays, Sundays, Saturdays…someone who clicks Saturday should only see Saturday tickets and info, right now it displays all classes available in that category.

QUESTION

1. Do I have to create an event for each day? For example, for Saturday classes, create nine events under the event title “Babynastix Saturdays”??? (Week 1, Week 2, Week 3, etc etc) I only want people to pay for the class BEFORE the start date and not during for the most part BUT do I have the option for people to pay for the remaining of the classes at a pro-rated rate???

I hope this message is not too confusing…
Can you help me out?

I’m sure I will have more questions as I move along here, great plugin so far though, I hope it can do this stuff.

Nick

Hi Nick,

1. What I am trying to achieve visually is to have the classes on Saturdays, ONLY appear on the calendar on Saturdays, and so on with Wednesdays and Sundays. Right now the events span the entire week until nine weeks later.

That’s happening because each of your datetimes is one long event, let’s take Babynastix (wednesdays) as an example – http://take.ms/wGDLE

As far as Event Espresso is concerned thats one, long event that starts on January 17, 2018 and finishes on March 28, 2018, so the calendar will show that as one, long event between those dates.

To set up the events how you want you need to break out each day into a separate event and then add multiple datetimes to that event for the days you want it to display. So you don’t need an individual event for each individual day, but you need one for each group of days (one event for the Wednesday classes), like so: http://take.ms/WbPLM

Note I stopped at Fed but you can add further datetimes.

When a ticket is sold in that event it will apply to all of those datetimes, the calendar will show them as individual events and when clicking any of the individual events you’ll go to the same event page – http://take.ms/i8BQKA

You then need to repeat this for the Saturday and Sunday events.

Does that make sense so far?

The above answers the first part of this question but I wanted to comment on the pro-rated rate, we don’t currently support ‘partial’ payments made by the user so the user can make payments outside of EE itself (for example, sending the payments via cheque to the admin) and the admin can apply payments to the registration but not automatically by the user themselves.

That is great thanks, kind of what I am looking for.
My other question was how to colorize each event so it shows up as different colors on the calendar. Any thoughts?

I figured this out…I’m having much difficulty with this plugin, I mean $300 + Canadian Dollars and this will be the most expensive plugin I have ever purchased and it is not intuitive at all…I have no idea how my clients are going to use this….anyways will keep you updated as I move along…

I’m glad you figured it out.

If you’d like to provide more detailed feedback I’ll happily pass that along to the developers.
