Hello – I recently ordered Event Espresso and installed EE4. I got everything setup but I am confused by one issue with setting up one of my events. I am trying to set it up where you can buy an main ticket but once you do that, you have the option to buy a Dinner Outing or a Guest Ticket. I don’t want the option tickets to be available right away, till you want to order the main ticket. Does anyone know how to do this?

When trying to search on this item, I kept getting pushed to this plugin:

https://eventespresso.com/product/espresso-multiple/

But I am unsure if this is exactly what I am looking for, can someone please help? Thank you so much in advance.

Hi Marylou,

Go to your WP dashboard. Then locate Event Espresso and click on events.

Next, click on your event and this will take you to the events editor.

Scroll down and look for the ticket editor. You should have at least one ticket setup. This will be the main ticket. Click on the gear (advanced options) icon. Then place a checkmark next to the required option:

Then you can create an additional ticket by clicking on the Create Ticket button. Be sure to save changes to your event after making these edits.

Now when an attendee/registrant tries to register, they’ll need to purchase a main ticket in our to complete registration checkout.

Hi Lorenzo,

Thank you so much for helping with that question. I knew that part already, maybe I should of listed a little more of my issue. So basically we have different types of tickets. A ticket where if you’re a member of our business, you get a discount. Then there is a normal ticket, then there is a group discount ticket. So if I require one of them then that’s hard if they had to pick from another option. What would be your suggestion for this? Hopefully that explains. Here is an example link: http://www.sportsofficiatingsummit.com/events/sports-officiating-summit-2015/

Thanks!

Hi, I would not enable a required option in this case. Rather, I would create two tickets like this:

Regular pricing
Business pricing

Then for the group pricing (a third option), toggle the advanced options (gear icon) and use the minimum and maximum option to bundle a quantity of tickets together.
