Need clarification about emails address

WE just opened up for taking registration for the Class reunion. Seems to be going well, slow, but going. However, I have been getting email notification, “new user”, list a user name and an email address, but no registration is filled out. Then I go to “User” and they appear on there as “Subscribers” under ROLE. I looking thru my website and have nowhere for a person to register “out of blue”. Where would this be coming from? Tracking?
What am I missing here?

Hi,

It sounds like you have new user registration turned on, which isn’t the same thing as the registering for the class reunion. The new user registration form for a WordPress powered site like yours is located at https://yoursite.org/wp-login.php?action=register

You can disable new user account registration by going to your WordPress Dashboard’s Settings > General page, then uncheck the box next to “Anyone can register”, then click the Save Changes button.
