Names with Event Datetimes on registration approval notification

Is it possible to include the name of the “Event Datetimes” on the primary registrant approval notices if a name is entered in the “Name” field?

As it stands, the registration approval email just shows the event datetimes, which has caused some confusion for our users who register for events with multiple event datetimes associated with an event.

For example, below is a screenshot of the registration approval notification for an upcoming event with a November 9 state date, a December 9 end date, and a December 12 exam date. But there’s nothing on the notification that informs the user what each date is for.

Is there some way to include the name configured with the event datetimes?

So, ideally, the registration approval notification would look like the following:

Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you.

Hi there,

Yes, this is possible.

The exact location depends on your set up, you’ve mentioned ‘Primary Registrant’ above but that context isn’t enabled by default on the Registration Approved message so I’ll cover a little of both.

Go to Event Espresso -> Messages -> Default Message Templates.

Find the ‘Registration Approved’ message type in the list and below it you’ll see:

Recipients: Edit Event Admin | Edit Primary Registrant | Edit Registrant

If ‘Edit Primary Registrant’ is grey then it means that context is disabled (it is by default) and you need to click on ‘Edit Registrant’.

Whichever one you click works in the same way it’s just who it gets sent to that changes, so say you are editing the Registrant context, click on it and you’ll see multiple sections.

Look for the TICKET_LIST section, you’ll see it calls [DATETIME_LIST] and thats the DATETIME_LIST section below.

By default that has
[DATETIME_START] - [DATETIME_END]

To include the name change it to:

[DTT_NAME] : [DATETIME_START] - [DATETIME_END]

Resend a registration approved message and see if it works now.

You can alter the contents of that section to change the formatting some, just remember you are within a UL and LI at that point.
