WP4.0, EE3 (free for now), Fresh install.

Hi! We run an annual 4 day festival in Italy, with visitors from all over Europe. Our site(s) will be available in 3 languages (Italian, German and English). Last year we ran WP multisite, but this year we feel running 3 separate WP installs, each on it’s own subdomain, will give us greater flexibility and more stability.

1) Assuming we don’t go for the developer licence, would we require 3 separate personal/business licences for each WP subdomain install?

2) If we add premium add-ons (such as the Ticketing add-on), would we need to purchase the add-on 3 times (once for each install)?

Thanks in advance.

Olly

I see there is an add to cart feature, that’s handy. Can I list different tickets on different pages of the site? (ex. add kayak to cart on kayaking page, and separately add camping to cart on the camping page)

Also, once we buy a licence, is that valid forever (but only with support for the first year)?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Olly,

Regarding both questions, the licence is for support and updates for one site. So while you can add the plugin to multiple sites (it’s GPL licensed) we will only provide support and auto updates for the sites with a valid licence key. E.g you add the plugins to an English and Italian site, the licence key is on the English site. The Italian site has issues and you need support. Without a valid licence we will be unable to help you.

Can I list different tickets on different pages of the site? (ex. add kayak to cart on kayaking page, and separately add camping to cart on the camping page)

Sort of. The add to cart function in EE3 adds events to the cart not tickets, so if you have separate events for each thing then yes you can add them to different pages BUT as they are different events the person will need to register for each so will be a separate entity within the database. As such you may find it will get complex for you and your customers if you have many of these mini events.

Also, once we buy a licence, is that valid forever (but only with support for the first year)?

The support and update licence is valid for one year. The plugin will continue to work after that point but you will no longer have access to support or updates. As such any changes that happen in WordPress may affect the running of the plugin (unusual but it has happened in the past). We do offer a discount on renewals within a set period of time.
