Hello,

I have unfortunately run into a wall while trying to adopt EE as our main Event Management tool (We are an event agency).

I’m currently setting up a track day project (http://renaultsport-trackdays.de/?page_id=331)

Here is my situation: I have added one event, with multiple options. The customer can book a spot for one car at the racetrack including a driver (299), and add additional drivers(89 EUR), or multiple passengers(39 EUR each).

A customer cannot register additional drivers or passengers without booking a spot for himself first (The 299 EUR option).

Only the number of cars is relevant for the attendee list, ie. there can be a maximum of 30 cars per event, but there may be 30 drivers, or 60 drivers or 120 drivers, which is irrelevant.

Is there an easy way to implement this? I have purchased the Multiple Event Registration add on just in case… I’m running a fresh installation of wordpress and EE.

Thank you so much!

Hello Armin,

>A customer cannot register additional drivers or passengers without booking a spot for himself first (The 299 EUR option).

Right now, there is no way to do a prerequisite like that. As such each user can select whatever tickets they choose to.

You could use javascript to enforce selections, but obviously it would be useless with JS turned off.

I believe, though I cant find the post right now, that someone achieved this by using Multiple Event Registration and having each price level as a separate event and used jquery to show the other events when the main event was selected.

>Only the number of cars is relevant for the attendee list, ie. there can be a maximum of 30 cars per event, but there may be 30 drivers, or 60 drivers or 120 drivers, which is irrelevant

I would not set the attendee limit in this case, as if you set it to 30, only 30 people can sign up.

Thanks Dean! The jQuery solution you mentioned looks like the best bet in this case. I could set the “Cars” event with 30 attendees and then create additional events for additional “drivers” or “passengers” that can be then added to the car.

Since I already have MER, this would make sense. Is there a tutorial for showing the additional events when the main event is selected? Sorry I am comeplete programming newbie…

Hi Armin,

I’m sorry no there isn’t. You would likely need a developer to assist you with that as it is a customization to the plugin.
