We are having an issue with our events for our website. On one event we are receiving the “Your form data could not be applied to any valid registrations” error message anytime someone tries to submit the form. We have another event that is the main registration point for our website and we have customers who constantly have issues trying to register.

The page that we are getting the subject error message on is as follows: https://cocnl.com/web/souvenir-book-ads/

We have 47 Pending Payments this month alone. The main registration page has 33 of the 47 pending payments. That page is: https://cocnl.com/web/registration/

Assistance would be very much appreciated.

Hi there,

I tried a test registration from the link you posted and I didn’t get any errors when I submitted the registration. Here’s a little video that shows what happened.

Can you outline the steps it takes to get the “Your form data could not be applied to any valid registrations” error message?

One thing you can check into is find out from the host to see if there’s any external object caching on the server. If there is, the object caching needs to be deactivated.

Hi Josh,

We were receiving the subject issue yesterday but it appears to be fixed today. However, customers are still unable to process payments through that event. I was on the phone with a customer today as they walked through the payment process and once they finished the payment details he received an error message stating that some fields where empty (like first & last name). Although he had already filled in these fields it wouldn’t attempt to process the payment even after clearing everything and trying a second time.

We are using the Vanco payment processing on our events and I was able to process his payment manually over the phone so it was not an issue with his payment credentials.

I will reach out to our Hosting company to inquire about the external object caching on the server but can you confirm that we don’t have any other technical issues on our site preventing payments from being processed through the events that we have setup? We have a large amount of unpaid registrations so it’s a little more than concerning.

Hello,

On this feedback, “…he received an error message stating that some fields where empty (like first & last name)” — I’ve seen that happen when caching is running.

I just tested the second link that you shared and noticed that it is an embed link. That is usually used when you are offering an option to register on an external site.

Could you go to the event editor and click on the shortcode button and copy that and then replace the embed code on your page and save changes?

Hi Lorenzo,

We have reached out to our Host (Host Gator) and they have checked and we do not have any caching setup currently.

Regarding the Shortcode vs. Embedded Link, what would be impeding registration submissions by using the Shortcode over the Embedded link? It doesn’t seem to make sense that one would work and the other would not…?

Also the shortcode seems to generate a dulled down version of the event registration information. Is there any way to allow the shortcode to mirror the embedded link?

Here’s what the comparison looks like:

Hi there,

The short code relies on styles from your WordPress theme, whereas the embed is an iframe and therefore uses its own styles. Here’s a gist that you can copy the CSS from into your WordPress theme or Additional CSS panel of the Customizer:

The above will allow the short code to look more like the embedded ticket selector.

Hi Josh,

We are going to get our web admin to try to swap out the embedded links with the shortcode using the details you provided. I’m still not sure how that would fix our issue. We are still getting daily complaints from our website visitors trying to register for events. One customer today was able to capture a screenshot of the error message that they are receiving when trying to purchase an add through the following event.

Ad Link: https://cocnl.com/web/registration-checkout/?uts=1485914653#checkout

We really need some type of fix here, we are losing money and interests in our events due to these constant issues:

Hi there,

The link you posted would only be valid if you started the registration session.

Fix #1: You can increase the amount of memory available for WordPress by following this guide:
http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP

You can use an [FTP client][1] and [a text editor][2] to edit the site’s wp-config.php file:

[1]: http://codex.wordpress.org/FTP_Clients
[2]: http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_Files#Acceptable_External_Editors

Also, (#2) you can try the setting that encodes the registration session data. This can prevent fatal errors on some servers. It’s recommended to try this setting during off-peak registration times just in case your server doesn’t allow using base64encoding (some of the cheaper shared hosts don’t). You can set Event Espresso to encode session data by going to Event Espresso > General Settings > Admin Options and set Encode Session Data to Yes, then save. After you save this setting, it’s important to test a registration to make sure your server supports encoding data.

Hi Josh,

Our developer will be implementing some updates to our site and will have him try these as well. Hopefully these fixes address our issue and will send an update in a few days when we have one.

Hi Support,

We have implemented all of the recommended updates now including adding the Shortcode to replace the event link references on our events, but we are still getting an error stating that the fields are required (as shown in the screenshot).

Is there someone that we can setup a working web session with to review this information with us? This issue has been lingering for weeks now and it’s not the first issue that we’ve had with your product. We have also purchased a support token to be redeemed for assistance. As of now we have not had a successful registration since January 5th.

Our registration page is setup here with events, if you need to test the registration we have created a 99% promo code [testpromo2017] that can be used to register: https://cocnl.com/web/registration/

Your swift response and support would be greatly appreciated.

We can investigate further if you can go to your account page, then click on the redeem a support token link, and complete the secure form on that page. We really do need FTP credentials to investigate this, please do not skip those fields.
