WP 3.5.1 Before purchasing I had inquired about having an event with conference break out sessions, but was not part of the plugin at the time. I was impressed with every other aspect of the plugin, so purchased anyway. What I am doing is having one main “pay” registration for the entire conference (see top of page http://ontarioarteducationassociation.org/conference-pages/delegate-registration/) and then below are the individual workshops that are part of the conference (with no charge). I am wanting to use the cart system (“Add to Cart”) which works great for one ‘event’. When I select a second event, it kicks me over to this page. Which lists all the events even outside of the conference event that I am wanting. I then have to reselect the event that I had chosen second to add. 1) Is this because the events are categorized with different categories? Should I have a general “category” for all events associated with the one big “event”? 2) Is there a way through the check out process to limit which types of events are being seen through checkout so I don’t have other events showing up in the process? I was looking on the short-codes page and I don’t think I saw anything that I needed, but I may have missed it. 3) Is there a more streamlined way of doing what I am attempting, or is this beyond the scope of the plugin? |

Hi there, It sounds like you might need to clear your browser’s session. I checked the link to the cart you posted and that is kinda busted, but then I went here: http://ontarioarteducationassociation.org/conference-pages/delegate-registration/ and added a few sessions to the cart then clicked view cart. The cart page displayed the sessions that I selected on this screenshot. If you go to this page it will clear your session and you could try that again: http://ontarioarteducationassociation.org/wlm/registration-cancelled/ |

That works great! Thanks. Any recommendation as to how I ought to provide instructions on my website so that my users don’t encounter the same difficulty (or do I just include a link on the registration page to http://ontarioarteducationassociation.org/wlm/registration-cancelled/ labelled “Empty Cart” or something like that???). Your assistance has been greatly appreciated.
Brian.

What I’ve done in the past is place a link to the registration-cancelled page in the sidebar using the WordPress text widget so there’s always an empty cart link that can be clicked on. |

Excellent. My last question if you dont mind is in regards to the ‘flow of the registration process’. Am I better to have the single conference event on its own page, then have the users access individual workshops with a link in the autoresponder email or to keep everything on one page or keep it so that everything is up on one page? Unless there is a way to lock an event unless another event is already in the cart? Brian.

While there isn’t a way to lock an event unless another event is in the cart, you can put the [ESPRESSO_CART_LINK] shortcode on the page where the registration process starts. Then from there you can direct the registrant to a list of individual workshops that can also be added to the cart. I like the autoresponder idea though because that would ensure that the main event gets paid for before the workshops get signed up for. |
