Multiple Event Registration -Email

Hi!

I have a question relating to multiple event registration. We are using Event Espresso for a seminar registration with 8 different ‘sub’-events.

If the attendee registers for all eight events, he/she receives eight separate emails.

Is it possible to configure Event Espresso so that only one email, listing all the events would be sent (a similar email, which is sent to the site admin).

I would appreciate a quick reply since we are planning on going live by the end of the week.

Terve Sami,

Currently its not possible to merge emails like that as each event is treated as an individual event, with MER acting like a shopping cart.

We are internally discussing how we can best approach “sub-events” in future releases, and I think the point you are raising here is an important one so I will add it to our discussion list.

Terve Dean,

Thank you for your answer. I noticed that the email sent to the site admin contains all the information details in one email.

It would be extremely important for us to send only one email and I was wondering if it were possible to send the same email that is sent to the admin, to the registrant as well?

I am comfortable with PHP, but before digging in to the code I would like to hear wether this would be possible.

Hei Sami,

The code dealing with the emails is in event-espresso/includes/functions/email.php.

It is a core file so updates will over write any changes you make.

Most, if not all, of the info you need to supply to the attendee would be via the email tags though.

I would say the only way to merge the emails would be to add some sort of conditional into that file, and I am not sure how you would go about it with the current set up as the attendee is logged once for each event, which is why multiple emails go out.

In 3.2 (release date unknown) the attendee structure is changed so only sending one email should be a lot easier to do, and may even be out of the box.
