Multiple event registration display problem

Hi

I have the MER installed and have set up a recurring event. Each record in the list shows the “Register” button and the “Add to Cart” label (as is to be expected). If I press the “Add to Cart” label on a record the event is added to the cart and the label changes to “View Cart” BUT all other “Add to Cart” buttons on the other records dissappear!!

Any idea why? Is this what’s supposed to happen? I had imagined that a user would run down the list of records merrily pressing “Add to Cart” until sated whereupon they would press “View Cart” and be taken to a cart that contained all events they had just added.
Perhaps it matters that I had not registered first?

Some details that might help.
This is a new set-up of Event esspresso on a new install of WordPress 3.5. The Theme is a child of the “Responsive” WordPress theme but I have changed the theme and checked on vanilla versions of Twentyeleven and Twentytwelve as well as various others but the buttons have dissappeared on all of them.

Here a screenshot too! No new styling just event espresso css.

Any help would be great.

cheers

John

Hi John,

Firstly, no this isn’t aniticpated behaviour, as you said you should be able to click away until sated.

I see the site in question is behind an “under construction” page so currently I can only provide general advice.

Javascript – it is highly likely it is a javascript conflict/error that is causing this, so I would check that (in Chrome you can right click, inspect element and go to the Console to look for errors).

Plugin/Theme conflicts – though the Javascript is the likely error, it no doubt comes from a plugin or perhaps the theme. Deactivate all plugins and change to the default twentyeleven theme and see if the issue still occurs. If it does not persist, then activate the theme/plugins one by one and test to find out where the problem lies.

Hi Dean

Thanks for getting back to me. I did have a look at possible java script conflicts over the weekend ( prompted by advice given on these forums to users who had issues with the calendar) but couldn’t see anything that looked like a candidate conflict. As I mentioned in my earlier post this is a clean WP 3.5 install so apart from hello dolly, akismet, event espresso and the maintenance plug in there are nothing else loaded. Nevertheless I have disabled everything other than event espresso and the behaviour continues under every theme I have tried.

However I changed the way of listing the events and am now using Espresso_table which works fine with plug-ins and with any theme. I like espresso tables way of listing events more than the default list so will probably stick with it and style away, but I’d be happy to work with you to identify what might be causing the problem in case it’s useful to others.
Oh and I’ll set up a user so you can get in a rootle around if you like

User: help

Hi John,

Well, firstly I am glad you found a workaround that you prefer!

Secondly, yes I would still like to look at it if possible, it’s bugging me that this is occurring on a clean site, when it just shouldnt.

Can you send login details via https://eventespresso.com/contact/

Choose the “I am sending login info as requested” option and fill out the form

Please make sure you add the forum post link to aid us in case another team member picks up the email.

NOTE: login details need to be Admin level.

Hi John

Ok so the only thing I can think here is that it is a browser cache issue as I had no problem with the links

http://d.pr/i/qUnw & http://d.pr/i/4GW6

So long as you are ok with the Tables then I can mark this as resolved as no issues outstanding.

Yeah you’re right! I was just trying it when I got your mail. Strange. I doubt it was the cache because I did flush it a few times, logged in and out, restarted etc before mailing. Anyway it looks resolved.

Mind you I did follow some instructions relating to hiding the register button that involved some simple edits of the template file (that I copied and pasted into it my template from these forums). They’re still in the template so maybe they had the effect of fixing the issue?

Maybe not but anyway yes it all appears fixed. Good good. That only leaves the Calendar in the iframe…!

Thanks for your help

cheers

John
