Multiple event registration addon possible bug

Hi
I have loaded the multiple event registration, seems to work OK except if I cancel the registration after going to the paypal payment page.

If I hit cancel and return to the site, then it the event(s) it will show that payment was completed, even though it also shows that no money was received.

This problem only occurs if you use add to cart.

Has anyone seen this?

Colin

Hi there,

Do you have the older version of the Groupons add-on active (1.5.2)? If so, there’s an update that can be downloaded from your account page.

Hi Josh
I am not using the groupon add on.

I only downloaded event espresso over the weekend

Any other thoughts?

Which page is set to the Registration cancelled page in Event Espresso> General Settings under Page Settings?

Hi Josh

It is the standard page as setup by the plug in.

Hi Colinswe,

I ran a quick test through the Multi Event Registration cart and canceled at PayPal, which brought me back to the Registration Cancelled page. What should happen is there will be a ‘test’ registration in the system for the first event listed, but the payment status will display as “Incomplete”. If it’s showing as “Complete”, then please check the Default Payment Status in Event Espresso>General Settings under Advanced Settings.

This setting can also be overridden for each event. If you look in the event editor, under event options, there will be an option to override the global default payment settings. This should be set to No change (it will use the global setting if set to no change), incomplete, or pending based on whether you want these registrations to reserve a spot on the list. Pending will reserve a spot on the list if they haven’t paid, incomplete will not.

Hi Josh
Your test registration came back as incomplete as it should be.

But when I did it myself it came back as complete even though the payment was zero!

See this PDF with some screen shots http://www.dyouville.org/PDFs/multievent.pdf

I believe that this problem ONLY occurs if you use the shopping cart – if you sign up directly then I do not see a problem – I am wondering if you did the test by clicking “register” rather than “add to cart”?

Also the settings for event completion are as you suggested they should be.

Still looks like a bug to me I am afraid.

I didn’t click register, I used the add to cart link and went through the Multi Event Registration process.

Do you have the WP user integration add-on active? If so which version? Were you logged into the site while you were testing the registration?

Hi
No I don’t have WP-user active.

Here are the addons that I have

Calendar,
Recurring events,
multiple events,

I have seen the issue whether logged on or not, and also I just used another computer (a MAC this time with the same result)

I added Linda as a participant but did not pay, and the system shows both that payment was completed AND that Linda still owes $200

I have updated the PDF with more screen shots

Best wishes

Hi there,

Do you have any caching plugins active?

This is the same error as I am getting.

I am guessing there is some code within the multi-event that sets to to be automatically complete and ignore the default payment setting.

Hi
Is there anything to add on this issue?

Can you try this? Before testing a registration, please go to the registration cancelled page so the session clears out, then you can try another test.

Hi Josh
tried going to the registration cancelled page and sorry but the problem is still there.

I would have been surprised if this was the issue since I have tested several computers many of which have never been to the site to “book an event”, and have always seen this issue.

If I “add to cart”, and later cancel the system, will say that the payment is complete.

Best wishes
Colin

Hi Colin,

At this point, I do not know why the Multi Event Registration cart isn’t always working on your site. We can investigate further if you can send us temporary FTP and WordPress admin credentials via our contact form:

If this is possible, please select the “I am sending login info as requested” department form.
