OK so I have figured out how to do the multiple event / attendee registration process. I have it setup right now with 3 tickets for different events…..they can choose as many tickets for each as they wish and when they click to go to the cart there is multiple fields for each ticket to allow us to enter the attendee data for each ticket.

The problem I am having – is that when they checkout it goes into the event registration area as a bunch of different transactions which is not optimal since we want to be able to print the tickets and now for some they would need to print 2, 3 or even more tickets since each item is line itemed seperately not by attendee.

So I guess my questions is – is there another way to do this so that the attendee can have 1 ticket with all of their paid sessions listed on the ticket?

Hi there,

There is a one-to-one relationship between event tickets (the ticket you select to register) and registrations, so 1 ticket will always create 1 registration.

Then there is a one-to-one relationship between registrations and ‘printable tickets’. Meaning 1 registration will always link to 1 ticket.

So if a user registers onto multiple event tickets they will have multiple printable tickets, this will happen however you setup EE (collecting additional info or not). However, what you can do is show all of their tickets on a single page when they view their tickets and print them all at once, would that work?

Can you link me to your events so I can see how it is currently setup?

Thanks Tony — that might be an option. I think the multiple tickets for 1 person may be an issue. I have a call with them this morning to discuss….so I will let them know this my be the only option. I will be back. The website is in development and hidden behind a host file..

Ok I am back and had a call with the client. So I think they realize something may need to go in terms of functionality – and the printable tickets issue is set aside for now……but here is what I was wondering – and maybe I am missing something about cancellations.

Right now we have the multiple attendee and multiple ticket functionality working fine – I see it creates “1” ticket, but in the admin you can see the singular registrations listed for each ticket item.

We coded a cancel button and that is working fine – but it cancels the WHOLE ticket — so if they had 5 attendees with 11 tickets…all of it is cancelled.

Is there a way to create an “itemized” page so to speak for the registrant so they can just mark one portion of a ticket – so maybe 1 attendee on that ticket cannot go and they cancel that 1 persons line items?

I know long shot, but figured I would ask!

Also — is there a way to trigger an email to each attendee on that 1 ticket so they can receive a copy of their printable ticket?

OK my head hurts….. 🙂

Thanks guys!

What code are you using for that button?

Also:

so if they had 5 attendees with 11 tickets

Can you clarify this further please? In EE, 11 tickets would be 11 attendees (registrations)

Is there a way to create an “itemized” page so to speak for the registrant so they can just mark one portion of a ticket – so maybe 1 attendee on that ticket cannot go and they cancel that 1 persons line items?

We don’t currently have any front end cancellations within Event Espresso, the admin can cancel single registration within the admin, but nothing for the front end currently.

Also — is there a way to trigger an email to each attendee on that 1 ticket so they can receive a copy of their printable ticket?

Need some more details to answer this.

Is it possible for us to view the events so we can view how you have this setup?

Thanks Tony — I think for this year we are going to take the cancelation issue off the table. We spoke yesterday and I explained that it would be too difficult of an implementation based on their need to have multiple registrations and tickets per order. We may revisit for next year though.

So we are down to the tickets — what are options if there are multiple people registered under 1 ticket for then receiving their tickets to print?

The site is on AWS and requires the host file on your computer to be edited to access it…..if you want i can send that info to you?

Thank you SO much!

It depends on your setup, you can include all tickets within a single page so they can print out all of them in one go.

Or if it’s a single event with multiple datetimes you can create a single ticket that applies to all of them, so the user only has 1 ticket but can use it on any of the datetimes (note that only applies if ifs all for the same single event in EE).

I’ll take a look at your setup and advise from there…

Email sent…thank you so much Tony. I also asked about an email issue — just not working with SES and I have tried all the fixes I could find on the forums but clearly I am doing something wrong because no notifications are being sent to registrants….appreciate your help and will pay you for your time if required!
