I am wondering if there is a way to set up a multi day event? We are hosting a three week workshop that takes place on September 19, 26, and October 3 – however, the WP application is only letting me set up a one day event, which is confusing to our attendees. We have purchased Events Espresso Premium. |
It might help to add some descriptive text in the description that lists the dates that the event will take place. You can also create events for the other two dates and set the “Alternate Registration URL” to be the URL that you posted above. That way, if you have the calendar set up, if someone clicks on any of the dates that the workshop takes place on, they’ll be directed to that page. You can disable the registration form for those other dates as well from the event options section of the event editor. One more thing: hide the page that has the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] shortcode from the site navigation (don’t delete it), and create a page that displays a single event registration form by using the [SINGLEEVENT] shortcode or the [ESPRESSO_REG_PAGE] shortcode. Here’s more information on the shortcodes: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/shortcodes-template-variables/ |

It would be sooo great if in a future version there was a way to denote when one event actually take place on non-consecutive days (ie, weekly for 10 weeks) without having to create multiple or recurring-events. A huge number of our workshops are run over a period of 8 or 10 weeks and we would like to show all the dates, but only allow registration from the start. I have used your work around, which is great and does work, but means we essentially have 10 events to manage for each 10 week workshop that we run. It’s quite hard work to manage if we need to make a small change to each event. But otherwise, I love it. Thanks! |

That would provide a whole new level of awesomeness. Fingers crossed it makes the cut… Thanks! |

We are trying to do the same thing. We have a single event that meets at the same time on four non-consecutive days. We can add additional times on the same date, but not additional days. Selecting the first date as Start and last date as End date lists the event on the calendar as spanning all dates as if the event lasted for two weeks. Please add this fuctionality. |
Thanks sgherman, It has already been added to Event Espresso 3.2, and we hope to get a beta out for this next version very soon. |

I just purchased Event Espresso and for some reason thought that I could already do this. Almost all classes offered at my business span multiple, non-consecutive days, and creating separate events for each date of every class seems like a nightmare. Any idea when a formal 3.2 release will be? |

Our school is running single events scheduled at the same time on three non-consecutive days. Creating separate events for each date of every class is easily done but only creates confusion for the students. Will the beta for Event Espresso 3.2 be available soon to solve this issue?

Hi Andrew, In this case, I think this can be addressed before 3.2 is ready for production sites. This may be remedied by altering the display of these events in order to make it more obvious that this is a single event running on non-consecutive days. Can you post a link to the page on the site that displays the information that is causing confusion? If I can take a look at the current page, I may be able to give you some recommendations that can help. |

I agree this is a problem that needs to be addressed! I guess I assumed that this plugin could handle Multiple Day Events when I purchased it the license few days ago. That said I am using the “Alternate Registration URL” as a workaround for now. The only problem I see with this is: The start date and time displays for whichever event you use as the master at registration. I think this will confuse users. Is there an easy way to hide/remove this text for specific events? |

Hello Kevin, You can remove the start date and time by adding this CSS code to your theme’s style.css file:

You’re welcome, Kevin. Glad we could help. If there is anything else we can do, let us know. |
