I have read other posts on this, but I feel it is a major issue with EE. I tried following other instructions, but maybe I need a little more help.

I am setting up a site for a en educational consultant who teaches certification classes for other teachers. Her classes more often than not take up two days. Currently if I use Recurring Events I need both dates to show on the Registration page without having to add it to the Description. I also noticed that if they downloaded the iCal file it will only add the first date of the class to the calendar.

I assume that if a teacher signs up for a multiple day class it will only show the first day when looking at their personal events page. It needs to show both dates. I am trying to make this easier on the teachers but this will be more confusing.

Are there any workarounds or future fixes in the works for this? I see many topics about it. Is there not a unique key for each recurring series that could be linked if one of the classes is registered than all the dates are considered registered?

I am using WordPress 3.5.2 and EE 3.1.33.3.P
An example is at http://georgiaeta.com/event-registration?regevent_action=register&event_id=23

Hi Jesse,

Sorry for the slow response.

I created a recurring event that is every Thursday and Friday (the days have to be consecutive). The recurring system correctly created numerous events with 2 day periods every Thur and Fri for several weeks.

What I did was this:

Create an event and give it the first two date start and end dates
Set it as a recurring event
Set it to work automatically
I set “Yes (all created events are available for registration between the above registration dates).” but the No option should work too.
Then set the dates again for Recurring events, making sure the last event date was the second day of the last event – http://d.pr/i/aUtQ
I set it to Weekly, every Thursday.

This gave me the following http://d.pr/i/yPVF

The ICAL noted the start and end dates correctly.

Is this what you were meaning or am I missing the point here?

Thanks for the reply Dean and working on it. Logically I tried to use recurring events, but in reality its not a recurring event. If I do two consecutive days then the calendar will show all hours between the start time of the first day and the end time of the last day.

I would rather it just show 8:30am through 2:30pm on each day. And if the event is not consecutive days then the calendar definitely won’t work.

It is an issue that effects almost every aspect. The event display should show all dates of the event, the email after registration needs to show the dates, the auto created posts, the My Events page, the invoices.

Is there any plan for EE to support this in the future? It seems like others are asking for it and for any class that has multiple sessions it is important that the owner, instructors and participants calendars and invoices show all the dates of the class.

Thanks!

Hi

Yes I see what you mean. Perhaps it will be something considered after 4.1 is released, I will certainly add it to the feature request list.
