We want to require a mandatory deposit payment with registration, followed up with final payment later. I know EE did not have this option in the past but was wondering if there have been any updates to allow this function. Also, have you added any new payment options besides paypal and checks ie. apple/zelle pay?

Hi Erin,

EE3 allows you to change the price on a registration and trigger a payment reminder.

To do this with EE4 you would need the users to register onto a ticket with the deposit price set on it, then ‘move’ the registration to another ticket with the ‘full’ price set on that and trigger message to notify the user.

So it is possible with either, but each registration will require a little admin work to set up.

For the above you would need the Attendee Mover Add-on for EE4.

Also, have you added any new payment options besides paypal and checks ie. apple/zelle pay?

EE has many different payment methods, see:

You are not just limited to PayPal and Checks, however we don’t have aspecific ‘Apple pay’ payment methods although it may be available through one of the current payment methods

Zelle pay we do not have an integration at this time.

So since I have EE3, I can just change the price on the event, and send a new invoice which will show remaining amount?

Not on the event no, on each individual registration itself you can set the price. You’d need to update that for each one.

However, I went through and tested this to confirm and it won’t work without custom coding as the payment methods use the full value, not the ‘remaining’ value as EE3 doesn’t expect that value to be changed after payment.

so is my only option to purchase the “attendee mover” add-on and create another event with the remaining price and moving the initial registrations over?

A better option would be to create a separate, “full price” ticket within the same event.
