When I activate MER – it seems that the client has no chance to actually “pay” for their order. Their registrations just end up being approved and that’s it. When I have MER turned off (Deactivated) the site has a “proceed to payment” button once the user selects their ticket. When they hit this button they fill out their registration details and then are given the options to pay (for us via PayPal or an Invoice to be paid later). When MER is turned on, the “Proceed to Payment” button is replaced by “proceed to Finalize Registration” and they user is just presented with the registration page but never sees anything about the payment gateways. Any ideas on what might be happening? |

Hi Ryan, Can you check for the PHP version number that’s running on your server? It will have the version number listed on the Event Espresso Maintenance page under the System Information tab, under “environment”. Also, were these events created in EE3 then migrated, or were they made with EE4 activated? |
|
PhP Version is 5.6.9-pl0-gentoo These events were migrated from EE3, I have also been having an issue with my question lis in the emails not displaying and I am also wondering if its because of the EE3 migration. Might try an experiment with that later. If this was due to the EE3 migration – is there any thing I can do short of deleting the event and re-creating it? |
|
Hi Ryan, It may help to simply re-save the event in EE4. I’m not sure though because I’ve been working pretty much all day on troubleshooting this, but have not been able to reproduce the issue where MER bypasses the payment screen. |
|
I can share login details if that helps. I am also very frustrated with the questions not showing up in the emails either (not sure if the two issues are related). I have deleted them and re-added them many times – not sure why they won’t work. I have tried creating new events, deleting and adding new questions, turning off and on plugins and nothing seems to solve the problem. |

Hi Ryan, It will help if we can take a closer look at the server. Can you send FTP credentials as well? You can send them via the secure form on this page: |

Hi Ryan, I checked your site and as far as I can tell, MER is not skipping the payment screen. I activated MER and it took me to the Payment screen when I did a test registration. I deactivated MER after I checked. Re: the Answers not printing in the emails: Which email template is this happening with? |
|
Hi Ryan, There are some updates available for Event Espresso 4 and the Multi Event Registration add-on. Can you update to those? They include fixes for the issue you reported for the payment selection getting bypassed. |
|
Josh, Just updated to the new Multi Event Registration add on and that seems to have fixed that issue. As for the answers in the emails – I am still playing with that, but its really been for any of the Registration templates and payment approved messages. Thanks |

Okay, please let us know if you need help with those email templates. |

Hi Josh, I’m still having issues with getting the question list to show on the registration (really any) emails. In the template, it looks like I have the Question Lists set up correctly, but when they are sent – they only show the Question List heading, but none of the questions/answers. The questions that I really want posted are a few custom admin only questions that are filled out by our staff after a registration comes in. The questions include simple things like transaction type, receipt number and seat number if its a bus tour that they sign up for. Our general workflow is to generally go in to the registrations, fill out these questions and then either approve or resend the registration emails. Again – it seems like the place is there for the questions to be sent (the header is there) – but not the list. I just updated the site to 4.7.6p and get the same issues. Thanks! |

Hi Ryan, It turns out that admin only questions and the answers that go with them are not included with the [QUESTION_LIST] shortcode. This is by design. You can print specific answers to each admin only question in the messages by placing the dynamic answer shortcode within the [ATTENDEE_LIST] section of the message. Then you’ll also place the [ATTENDEE_LIST] shortcode within one of the message’s sections where you want the answers to be displayed. Here’s an example of the dynamic answer shortcode:

Awesome – that’s the info I needed. I got everything working (I believe) now! thanks for all the help! |

You’re welcome Ryan. |
