Multi-dates & multi-pricing implementation

Hi,

Currently using EE4 for my theatre’s website.

Our events work as such:
A theatre play is planned for several dates, maybe event for weeks, so a lot of dates per event. Each date should give the customer the choice between adult fee, child fee, or member fee.

In the current implementation of EE, I can’t get this to work neatly. I am forced to have three different types of tickets per date and that’s just not going to work, because that’s way too many options, that’s confusing and that’s not how it should be working as advertised on there for instance:

I would like the customer to pick the date, and then pick his pricing via dropdown menu as per shown above. Am I missing something here?

Hi there,

With EE4 every price change is a new ticket type so, as you mentioned, for each date you will need 3 tickets. There’s a filter available which shows the available dates and filters the tickets based on the selected dates, see here:

https://eventespresso.com/2017/02/new-feature-filter-tickets-date/

You can find the option for that in Event Espresso -> Events -> Templates -> Ticket Selector Template Settings.

Set ‘Show Date & Time Filter?’ to ‘Maybe shot date & time filter’ and then set the threshold for the number of unique datetimes on an event need for the filter to show.

When check the ticket selector on the front end, will that work for you?

The link included above is for EE3 which does have a dropdown to select the price as it creates a totally separate ‘event’ for each instance you require, in EE4 you have a single event with multiple datetimes and then tickets that grant access to each/any/all of those datetimes in the event.
