Is there a way to remove all events and associated data up to the last year(so that moving forward, we are only keeping 1 year of data) from EE 3 before moving to EE 4.

In addition, we would still like to display all archived events in EE 4. Is this possible?

Hi there,

Any old events in EE3 would need to be deleted (go to Event Espresso > Event Overview then filter for Inactive), then permanently deleted by going to Event Espresso > Event Overview > Deleted and selecting the events to permanently deleted. Attendee data would also need to be deleted either by direct database manipulation (not recommended) or via the UI by viewing the Inactive event’s attendee list.

In addition, we would still like to display all archived events in EE 4. Is this possible?

It’s possible by using a shortcode added by some custom PHP code. Here’s a link to a gist with the custom code that can be put into its own plugin:

Thank you. Just so that I am clear, we can we delete all events and attendee data up to the past year on EE 3. When we move to EE 4, we will have access to all archived events (including the archived events from previous years?)

No. If you delete the data in EE3 you will not have access to that data anymore, regardless of the version. EE3 (and EE4) do not have an “Archive” feature.

Thank you. That is what I thought, but I wanted to double check with you.
