I did not realise I would have a problem moving from a staging environment where I have been testing the latest version of EE to a live server. The problem is the key is associated with a staging subdomain. I have requested a reset on my account page and removed the key I was using from the staging domain. Trouble is this is the weekend (chosen for the upgrade as a bit quieter than during the week) and the site is now effectively useless. Only one event is showing on each page where before there was a list, and styles seem to have gone AWOL too. Shortcodes looks like this: [EVENT_ESPRESSO_CATEGORY event_category_id=”ev”] No ‘book’ option showing.
I am removing the shortcodes and putting up an apology on the EE pages of the site, but this is an embarrassment! If this is what happens and moving the code between domains cannot be instantaneous there needs to be a HUGE health warning somewhere prominent!
The license key has no affect on the site layout and is only used to get one click updates. The problems with your site not working is most likely caused by something else. Most likely outdated template file files in your wp-content/uploads/espresso/ directory.
Hi Seth – Thanks. You were right of course the display problem was with templates and not the key!
