Hello guys, awesome job with EE, we absolutely love it… So we have been using EE for a few years with little to no issues. We recently built a new website in another director on our server so we could keep our registrations going while we designed the new site. Well, we moved the new site over and im having a few little issues that im hoping is because of the move and you can help. I have been reading support forums for hours and my head is spinning.

First, if im using Chrome i get “Nothing in your Event Queue You need to select at least one event before you can proceed with the registration process.” when i try to buy a ticket. If i use an incognito window it works fine. Also, no problems using Safari so far.

For some reasons registration emails are not going out to the person registering. I get the admin notifications, just nothing to the person buying the ticket. Also, the PDF invoice seams to be broken.. the page just goes blank when it finally opens.

Last thing, for now, the google maps on the venue pages are no longer loading, just a gray box…

Again, im hoping this is an issue due to the move. Can i remove EE and somehow keep the events i have then re-install it? Would that even help?

Again, awesome job and thanks for the help

We were able to figure out the issues with Google maps.

Ok, so I managed to figure out that just about everything had to do with using Chrome on my Mac with OS 10.14.5. Using Safari, I have been able to correct every issue except the email not going out to the person registering. Im decided to leave everything incase someone else is has the same issues I did.

I have completely removed Chrome and will attempt to reinstall to see if something was just corrupted.

Hi there,

How exactly did you move the site over?

First, if im using Chrome i get “Nothing in your Event Queue You need to select at least one event before you can proceed with the registration process.” when i try to buy a ticket. If i use an incognito window it works fine. Also, no problems using Safari so far.

Assuming this is the site linked to your license, I just found an event and ran a quick test registration (Using my name) on that event to confirm it works with Chrome (which it did).

Sounds like you need to clear your browser’s cache as I can’t think of why that would only happen on Chrome.

With it working in incognito mode, which means Chrome doesn’t have access to any session data, would once again hint to something in the cache.

For some reasons registration emails are not going out to the person registering. I get the admin notifications, just nothing to the person buying the ticket.

If you look in Event Espresso -> Messages -> Message activityCan you see the message for the registrant listed there?

Does it show as sent (have a green ‘status bar’ on the left)?

Also, the PDF invoice seams to be broken.. the page just goes blank when it finally opens.

Looks like it is not just the PDF, the link to open the HTML version also doesn’t work.

OK, so first go to Event Espresso -> Messages -> Default message templates -> Receipt.

Are the sections there blank? If so click on the ‘Reset Templates’ button in the sidebar of the template, that will force EE to regenerate the template from scratch, if you had any modifications on the template they will be lost, but if it’s blank those have been lost anyway.

If it’s not blank, what do you see? Can you add a screenshot?

Again, im hoping this is an issue due to the move. Can i remove EE and somehow keep the events i have then re-install it? Would that even help?

All of your event data is stored in the database, NOT the plugin’s files, so you can safetly de-activate and delete EE through Dashboard -> Plugins, then reinstall without losing any data.

WordPress may show a message showing something like:

“Are you sure you want to delete {plugin name} and its data?”

But it’s just a poorly worded notice, it’s up to the plugin to delete its data on delete and Event Espresso does not (allowing your to safely re-install without losing all your data, is one of the reasons why we don’t)

So you could re-install EE by de-activating and deleting the current version, then download the latest version from your account page and install through Dashboard -> Plugins -> Add new -> Upload plugin just to make sure nothing is wrong with your current version.
