Modifying Payments page

Where can I modify the content of the Payments page that is displayed after clicking the submit button? I’d like to edit the text, but changes I make in the files on the FTP server don’t apply to the page’s content. Which files do I have to edit exactly? The ones in the “plugin” directory or in the “uploads” directory?

Any template files that have been modified need to be copied into the /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates/ directory to keep them from being overwritten when updating EE.
