Modify front end event submission form

Hello
We’re now using the event submission form from the front end event manager plugin on EE3. The question I have is, is it possible to modify this form to include additional fields. I don’t expect you guys to walk me through that as I realize its outside the scope of help here. But I just want to ask if its possible before I experiment with it on a test site as I have an intermediate level of PHP skill. Basically I would just like to add a field for users to add the paypal email field to the form so people who submit events can get paid to their own paypal account. I know how to do this with the event meta entry but just want to see if I can modify the form to include that.
Any guidance suggestions appreciated….

I checked the fem_form_output.php file and at the top in a comment it says

//Before editing this file, please move it to the ‘wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates’ directory.

This is a good indication that it can be customized.
