Hmm, same version as i was testing on, and I had no issues. I can only assume it is a theme/plugin conflict as nothing else is apparent.
Sorry about this, but I think you will need to troubleshoot, which will involve temporarily turning off your plugins (except EE and EE Social) and swapping to a default theme such as TwentyTwelve.
With them off, check the social icon, and if it is functioning correctly, start turning them on one by one starting with the theme and testing the social icon each time until the problem theme/plugin is found.
